They tell vendors they have funds ready to completely purchase a property but first, in order to release a 10% deposit, the vendor should pay a security bond which amounts to 1% of the property’s value.
Back in the UK, Rightmove has categorically impressed upon its customers that these disturbing scams and schemes are nothing to do with Right move and that they never get involved with companies who offer to purchase overseas properties. They have strongly stated they directly deal with property advertisers and do not have connections with organisations who buy properties from sellers.
There are two companies that Rightmove deal with and these companies would never offer to purchase property. These are www.holidaylettings.co.uk and The Rightmove Abroad.
It recommends to anyone wanting to purchase abroad to take the right moves to avoid suspicious dealings and work with reputable companies. Check email endings come from rightmove.co.uk only and, if a company claiming affiliation with Rightmove does not have this ending, then to be suspicious and report them by email to the Overseas team.
