Letting Agents guide to the London borough of Brent
Created in 1965 when Wembley and Willesden were merged, Brent is in the heart of north-west London and is bordered by the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Barnet, Camden and Westminster among others.
To the west of the London borough of Brent lie the suburban streets of Bronsdesbury and Willesden Green, Neasden, and Dollis Hill. East Brent is mainly "inner city" with Victorian terraces in Kilburn and Queens Park.
Brent is growing ever more popular with those who can't afford the high prices of neighbouring Kensington and Maida Vale.
Brent's most expensive area which has no doubt benefited from neighbouring West Hampstead and Maida Vale's spiralling property prices. Grander properties around Aylestan and Milverton Avenues have become popular with diplomats who can't afford St John's Wood or Belgravia. Willesden Green offers the same mixture of Victorian homes and flat conversions.
Tucked away by the North Circular and the Edgware Road, housing is predominantly mid war semis with a few conversions. Dollis Hill offers a more up market air and good views across London. Enclaves of Edwardian housing can be found around Gladstone Park as well as 1930's semis and a wide choice of modern purpose built apartments.
Perhaps Brent's most famous landmark is the new Wembley Stadium.
Brent has a population of 272,000 and is governed by a Labour-run council.
The London borough of Brent incorporates some 1,685 streets.
