The River Thames dominates the character of the borough. Barnes, with its mixture of large affluent homes and village cottages, resides at Richmond's most northern tip whilst pretty Kew and Richmond itself follow the Thames westward.
Secluded from London's bustle, yet with trendy Fulham and Putney on its doorstep, Barnes remains a much sought after location boasting many large family homes. Handsome Victorian houses surround the Common and both Castelnau and Lonsdale Roads to the north of the High Street.

Teddington is set to the south of the borough and bordering the green open spaces of both Bushy Park and Hampton Court Park.
